🔑Key Takeaways
  • MDEC (Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation) lists 58 accredited Peppol Service Providers, last updated 18 September 2026. It publishes a separate list of 48 Peppol-Ready Solution Providers for accounting, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and other solutions [MDEC Peppol Service Providers page, 18 Sep 2026].
  • LHDN (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri, the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia, or IRBM) lists “through Peppol service providers” as only one of three application programming interface (API) transmission methods, alongside direct ERP integration and non-Peppol technology providers [LHDN e-Invoice General Guideline v4.8 (30 Aug 2026), Section 2.4; LHDN General FAQs (4 Sep 2026), Q137].
  • Taxpayers may choose any transmission method suited to their business, and LHDN says any provider that can meet IRBM’s API requirements is welcomed [LHDN General FAQs (4 Sep 2026), Q137]. Our decision rule: shortlist from MDEC’s list if buyers or group entities need a Peppol ID or cross-border Peppol exchange; if you only need to reach MyInvois, a Peppol provider is optional.
  • “MDEC-accredited” is not “LHDN-certified”. LHDN states there is no registration or certification requirement for technology providers at this juncture, and that this may change [LHDN General FAQs (4 Sep 2026), Q138 and Q139]. MDEC accreditation covers operating as a Peppol access point and lasts 12 months [MDEC accreditation guideline, Section 1.0].
  • Appointing any provider, accredited or not, does not transfer legal responsibility; compliance stays with the taxpayer [LHDN General FAQs (4 Sep 2026), Q30 and Q133].

As of 18 September 2026, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Malaysia’s Peppol Authority, lists 58 accredited Peppol Access Point / Service Providers. Accreditation is valid for 12 months. Peppol is one optional route to LHDN’s MyInvois, not a requirement.

How many MDEC-accredited Peppol service providers are there in Malaysia?

MDEC lists 58 accredited Peppol service providers in Malaysia, according to its list published on 18 September 2026 (MDEC page, MDEC list PDF). All 58 rows carry the status “Accredited”. Each row on MDEC’s list carries only a number, a provider name, a company website and a status. MDEC does not publish country, accreditation date or product detail, so this page adds none.

A Peppol Service Provider (SP) is the company that sends and receives your e-invoices on the Peppol network on your behalf. The industry also calls it a Peppol access point, and our guide explains how the four-corner model works. MDEC functions as the Peppol Authority for Malaysia: the national body that localises Peppol standards and accredits service providers that meet them (MDEC).

The question most finance and IT leaders actually face is different: do you need one at all? Usually not: a Peppol-accredited provider is not a must for Malaysian companies. LHDN (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia, the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia or IRBM) treats Peppol service providers as one permitted route to its MyInvois System, covered in the decision section below.

Important: This list belongs to MDEC, not JomeInvoice. Accreditation status can change, so verify the provider with MDEC before you contract. Listing is not an endorsement, and the order is MDEC’s, not a ranking.

How to read the table:

  • Status is MDEC’s accreditation status on the list date. It says nothing about fit with your ERP, price or service quality.
  • JomeInvoice is not on this list and is not a Peppol Service Provider.
  • Legal entity matters. Group companies often contract under a different name from the brand a buyer knows, so confirm the exact legal entity on MDEC’s page before signing.
  • Two directories, two schedules. OpenPeppol, the international association behind the Peppol network, publishes its own directory of certified service providers, grouped by legal residence. On 6 October 2026 that directory (updated 30 September 2026) showed entries naming MDEC as their Peppol Authority that do not appear, or appear under a different name format, in MDEC’s 18 September list. Treat MDEC’s list as the Malaysian authority’s record as of its date, and re-check it before contracting.

Peppol Service Provider (SP) vs Peppol-Ready Solution Provider (PRSP)

MDEC maintains two separate accreditation lists, and mixing them up is the most common reading error. An SP operates a Peppol access point. A Peppol-Ready Solution Provider (PRSP) is accounting software, an ERP or a solution that can send and receive e-invoices through Peppol without necessarily becoming an access point (MDEC).

Question it answers Who carries our documents on the Peppol network? Can our accounting or ERP software connect to Peppol?

A company can hold both accreditations, so a name may appear on both lists (MDEC FAQ). This page does not compare the two lists name by name.

How MDEC accredits a Peppol service provider

MDEC accredits a provider only after company, financial, security and technical checks, and the accreditation lasts 12 months from the date of confirmation (MDEC accreditation guideline, 2025 edition, footer dated 05 May 2025, Section 1.0). That makes this a quality gate for Peppol network participation, and nothing more: the criteria below say nothing about ERP fit, pricing or support. Anyone searching for a Peppol provider in Malaysia should read the gate before trusting the badge.

Section 2.0 of the guideline sets nine eligibility criteria:

No. MDEC criterion What it means for a buyer
1 Company registration and minimum paid-up capital of RM50,000 or equivalent Provider is a registered company, in Malaysia or another country, with a stated capital floor
2 Company or parent in operation for at least one year at submission Newly formed entities need an established parent or a year of trading
3 Declaration of no liquidation, winding-up or dissolution order Self-declared financial standing
4 Declaration of no legal proceedings for criminal offences or liquidation Self-declared legal standing
5 Declaration of no blacklisting by any Malaysian authority or MDEC Self-declared standing with authorities
6 OpenPeppol AISBL membership and a signed Peppol Service Provider Agreement Provider is bound by network rules and OpenPeppol testing
7 MY-PINT compliance, shown by sending and receiving e-invoices, plus MDEC reporting requirements Technical interoperability with Malaysia Peppol Specifications (MY-PINT); reporting duties start only after accreditation
8 Information security: multifactor authentication, encryption at rest and in transit, regular monitoring Baseline controls; ISO/IEC 27001 certification is non-mandatory
9 Compliance with Malaysia’s tax authority requirements for e-invoice submission, with proof Provider must evidence the LHDN-facing requirements

The onboarding path in Section 3.0 has 11 steps, several of which apply only to new applicants:

  1. Submit interest to MDEC and receive the application form.
  2. Submit the signed form and required documents.
  3. Pass MDEC’s due-diligence assessment.
  4. Join OpenPeppol AISBL (existing members skip this).
  5. Request a Peppol PKI (public key infrastructure) test certificate.
  6. Complete OpenPeppol’s onboarding test against MY-PINT.
  7. Complete interoperability testing in the Malaysia test environment.
  8. Sign the Peppol Service Provider Agreement with MDEC.
  9. Request and obtain the PKI production certificate.
  10. Obtain MDEC’s confirmation and be listed on its microsite and the Malaysia Peppol Directory.
  11. Renew within the 12-month cycle, starting within 3 months before expiry.

The so-what for a procurement team: accreditation is a point-in-time confirmation that renews annually. Ask any provider for its current confirmation date and renewal status instead of relying on a logo.

Do you need an MDEC-accredited Peppol provider for LHDN e-invoicing?

No. LHDN’s e-Invoice General Guideline v4.8 (30 August 2026), Section 2.4, names three ways to transmit e-invoices via API to the MyInvois System:

  1. Direct integration of the taxpayer’s ERP system with MyInvois.
  2. Peppol service providers.
  3. Non-Peppol technology providers.

LHDN’s General FAQs (4 September 2026), Q137, confirm the choice is the taxpayer’s: taxpayers may select any transmission method most suited to their business, and any provider that can meet IRBM’s API requirements is welcomed. Q138 states there is no registration requirement for technology providers at this juncture, although providers are responsible for the functionality and reliability of their API integration with IRBM. Q139 adds that no certification is required at this juncture, and that this may change (LHDN General FAQs). Neither LHDN document requires Peppol use. For a plain-language comparison, see Peppol vs MyInvois: why a Peppol-accredited provider is not a must.

Peppol earns its place in a narrower set of cases. Shortlist from MDEC’s list when:

  • A buyer or procurement policy asks suppliers for a Peppol ID.
  • A foreign parent or group entity exchanges documents over Peppol.
  • You want one network connection to reach many trading partners.

Skip Peppol, and keep your existing route, when:

  • Your goal is LHDN compliance for Malaysian transactions only.
  • Your ERP already integrates with MyInvois through the API.
  • No trading partner has asked for Peppol connectivity.

For the integration side of that choice, read our guide to e-invoice integration models in Malaysia and the comparison of MyInvois portal vs API vs middleware. Every route is a way of reaching the MyInvois System, so the e-invoice integration question comes first and the Peppol question second.

How to choose a Peppol service provider: a 10-point checklist

Choose by testing a shortlist against verifiable questions, not by reading a ranking. This page deliberately offers none. For a wider framework on e-invoice middleware in Malaysia, see how to compare e-invoicing providers and the category view of e-invoicing software options in Malaysia.

No. Question to ask Why it matters Where to verify
1 Is our exact legal entity on MDEC’s current list, and which list date? Name formats differ across lists and contracts MDEC page and PDF
2 When was accreditation confirmed, and when does it renew? Accreditation lasts 12 months; renewal starts within 3 months of expiry Provider’s MDEC confirmation; guideline Section 1.0
3 Who handles our Peppol ID and registration in the Malaysia directory? The Peppol ID is built from your SSM (Companies Commission of Malaysia) company number; registration can fail if details do not match SSM records MDEC FAQ; provider
4 Does the provider also cover the LHDN MyInvois leg, and how are validation rejections surfaced? A Peppol connection and a MyInvois submission are separate steps MDEC FAQ; provider’s test run
5 How does it connect to our ERP or accounting system, and what is custom versus standard? Integration scope drives timeline and who owns later changes Provider’s integration specification
6 Where is our data hosted, and which security controls are certified? MDEC requires baseline controls only; ISO/IEC 27001 is non-mandatory Provider’s documents; guideline criterion 8
7 What support hours, languages and escalation exist in Malaysia? Month-end and deadline incidents need a named path Service agreement
8 How does the contract treat responsibility? Responsibility stays with the taxpayer, and provider fault is not a defence LHDN FAQs Q30 and Q133
9 What are the pricing model and exit terms? Switching cost surfaces only at exit Quote and contract
10 What audit trail and record retention does it provide, and can we export it? Your own records must outlast the provider relationship Provider’s retention policy

Item 8 deserves a second look. Appointing a provider never moves legal responsibility away from the taxpayer; see our guide to outsourcing e-invoice submission to a service provider for how that plays out in practice.

Where JomeInvoice fits (and where it doesn’t)

JomeInvoice is not on MDEC’s list and is not a Peppol Service Provider or access point. Nothing on this page should be read otherwise.

What JomeInvoice does is the step LHDN requires: connecting an enterprise’s existing ERP, point-of-sale or billing system to the MyInvois System. Per its product documentation, integrations are set up together with the JomeInvoice team and run over API, an SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) invoice feed or webhooks, and clients authorise JomeInvoice as an intermediary inside MyInvois. If a buyer or group entity also requires a Peppol network connection, that is a separate procurement decision to make from MDEC’s list above.

For enterprises already live on MyInvois, the useful question is whether your current route is healthy: validated, reconciled and audit-ready. JomeInvoice is a Malaysian company with its Kuala Lumpur headquarters, is backed by AGMO Holdings Berhad (Bursa-listed), hosts data onshore on AWS Malaysia, holds ISO 9001, ISO 20000-1 and ISO 27001 certifications, and supports clients in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin. Enterprise go-live typically takes 4 to 8 weeks, subject to change where more complicated or customised solutions are needed. Our enterprise client base is concentrated on SAP, Oracle NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics 365 environments, where we custom-integrate the ERP to MyInvois rather than offer a native connector.

To assess your current setup and map your options to LHDN MyInvois, book a session with our team or read about enterprise e-invoicing integration.

Use MDEC’s list as a filter, not a mandate

MDEC’s list tells you who is accredited to run a Peppol access point; LHDN’s guideline tells you whether you need one. For most Malaysian transactions the answer is no, and where Peppol is needed, check the provider’s entity and renewal date against MDEC before you sign.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many MDEC-accredited Peppol service providers are there in Malaysia?

58, as of MDEC’s list last updated 18 September 2026, and all 58 carry the status “Accredited”. MDEC also publishes a separate list of 48 Peppol-Ready Solution Providers. Re-check MDEC’s page before contracting, because the list is updated periodically.

Who is the Peppol Authority in Malaysia?

The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). It localises Peppol standards for Malaysia and accredits service providers. LHDN holds a separate role: e-invoicing for tax reporting and compliance.

What is a Peppol service provider (access point) in Malaysia?

A Peppol service provider is an MDEC-accredited company that operates a Peppol access point, sending and receiving e-invoices on the Peppol network for its customers. See our guide to the Peppol access point.

Is Peppol mandatory for e-invoicing in Malaysia?

No. LHDN lists Peppol service providers as one of three API transmission methods and lets taxpayers choose any method suited to their business [General Guideline v4.8, Section 2.4; FAQ Q137]. A buyer or group may still ask for a Peppol ID. See Peppol vs MyInvois.

Can I use an e-invoicing provider that is not on the MDEC list?

Yes, for LHDN compliance. LHDN welcomes any provider that can meet IRBM’s API requirements and requires no registration or certification of technology providers at this juncture [LHDN General FAQs, 4 Sep 2026, Q137 to Q139]. The MDEC list matters only if you need Peppol network exchange.

What is the difference between a Peppol Service Provider (SP) and a Peppol-Ready Solution Provider (PRSP)?

An SP provides Peppol access point services. A PRSP is accounting software, an ERP or a solution that can send and receive e-invoices via Peppol without necessarily becoming an access point. MDEC lists them separately, and one company can hold both.

How long does MDEC Peppol accreditation last?

Twelve months from the date of confirmation [MDEC guideline, Section 1.0]. Accreditation is a point-in-time confirmation, so ask any provider for its current confirmation date.

How is MDEC Peppol accreditation renewed?

The provider must contact MDEC to start renewal within 3 months before expiry. Renewal depends on meeting the accreditation requirements, including MDEC reporting requirements [MDEC guideline, step 11].

How do I choose a Peppol service provider in Malaysia?

Confirm the exact legal entity on MDEC’s current list, then test the shortlist against the ten-point checklist above: renewal date, Peppol ID registration, MyInvois leg, ERP integration, security, support, contract responsibility, pricing and exit terms, and audit trail.

Is JomeInvoice on MDEC’s accredited Peppol list?

No. JomeInvoice is not among the 58 providers on MDEC’s list (Last Update: 18 September 2026). For LHDN compliance, your provider does not need to be on it; see why a Peppol-accredited provider is not a must.
